Mass debate over Brown smears

Vote for a change is planning a rally in Westminster’s Methodist Central Hall at 6.30pm on July 9th.
The festival of change, while sounding like a fiscal Glastonbury, is, in fact, aimed at encouraging debate and achieving a measure of political reform and more accountability for us minions.
A change needed to help revitalise public faith and participation in the UK’s political system which hasn’t had a great time recently. Backed by the Electorial Reform Society, Progress, Unlock Democracy and a host of shouty slebs, the campaign believes that the first past the post system is anachronistic and gives a disproportionate amount of influence to a small group of swing voters.
Oh, and there will be bands and poetry too.
With the current Government elected in 2005 on an uncomfortably small, and (whisper it) surely unrepresentative 35% of the vote, it does seem difficult to argue against the need for some form of change. Voting reform might be a solution, despite the arguments put forward by those wanting to maintain the status quo
So if you fancy joining the debate do come along or register on the website for further information or email naomi at voteforachange.co.uk . Or tune into Big Brother instead. You decide..

"... our whole political system is close to collapse. Just when the system needed to be strong it has been brought to its knees. Only the British people can put this right. We demand a new electoral system that makes everyone’s vote count.
